Our Training

What makes our training different?

We provide quality bespoke training for schools which is based on effective practice across Wales and incorporates the revised curriculum changes.

We are dedicated to developing literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum and committed to ensuring that schools can access bespoke high quality support and training. Building on the foundations laid by the Welsh Government funded National Support Programme, we will ensure that schools can continue to access bespoke high quality support and training. We offer an extensive range of support for schools and are committed to ensuring that all support meets the needs of the schools.

Our close working relationship with schools across Wales has enabled us to identify current needs and design our support packages accordingly. Our support will enhance the training currently available to schools from consortia.

Effective CPD should be focused upon needs that have been identified through thorough whole school self- evaluation. We believe the key to successful CPD is ongoing support across two or more terms, based on a focused outcome for a specific group of learners that is rigorously evaluated for impact. Success Criteria needs to be set at the outset of training activities that state clearly what gains might be expected. The intended outcomes need to be clearly linked to gains in knowledge and skills and raising pupils’ standards.

We aim to ensure that all our training is cost effective and results in measurable improvements in standards.

In summary, CPD which is effective in improving teaching and learning must be underpinned by the following principles:

  • Focused on evidence-based teaching practices
  • Evaluated for its impact on pupil learning
